Position Specific Description
The Service Transition team strives to protect the live operational environment of infrastructure services and assets deployed, while driving data integrity practice and ensuring that services meet the agreed expectations of the business, customers and users.
The role of the IT Release Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all infrastructure and application initiated changes in alignment with the established Change & Release Management processes. The primary objective is to ensure that the integrity of the live environment is protected.
Responsibilities:
- Supports planning, controlling and execution of changes in collaboration with infrastructure and application SMEs.
- Works with infrastructure and application teams to understand opportunities for change and ensures these opportunities are captured in the CMDB
- Creates and maintains the Forward Schedule of Changes (FSC) to document and communicate change plans to stakeholders
- Maintain and Review release calendar/schedule daily to keep track of changes and implementation resources
- Manage/Mitigate risks by resolving issues that affect the scope of the release
- Maintain communication with appropriate team members and stakeholders to mitigate issues and risks
- Partner with Implementers to ensure successful implementation and verification processes of change/release to deliver a successful release
- Work in collaboration with Change coordinator to facilitate efficient scheduling of resources
- Confirm release approvals by management and provide communication and guidance to IT teams and stakeholders throughout cycle
- Monitors dependencies and coordinate deployment plans
- Coordinate scheduled changes for weekly/monthly/ patches to server farms.
- Main point of contact for managing changes that are scheduled for deployment
- Work independently with teams to plan implementations
- Participate in daily/weekly CAB meetings
- Conducts Release Planning meetings and Go/No-Go readiness reviews with stakeholders.
- Accountable for managing and prioritizing Emergency releases
Desired experience to be successful in this role:
- Detail oriented with very strong organizational and tracking skills
- Prior experience coordinating Hardware/Software releases through deployment
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal direction
- Experience in negotiating timelines and deliverables with a strong sense of urgency
- Possess strong problem-solving/negotiation skills and ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to perform process optimization
- Knowledge of basic IT terminology
- Skills must include intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Transition principles or certification
- Experience with ServiceNow, ChangeGear, IBM Control Desk or other IT Service management tools
Please note, for the right candidate, additional work location available in Palm Beach County. Also, if based out of Miami-Dade County, some travel to corporate HQ in Juno Beach may be required.
