Position Specific Description

Smile- you’ve found us! At NextEra Energy, our people are our greatest asset and our IT Team is seeking a Network Services Manager to join the organization. Candidates with the following experience will be highly preferred:

 

·       Experience within a 24/7 NOC environment

·       Experience reacting to enterprise network issues

·       Experience with design, development, and management of the Cisco networking suite

·       Experience leading a team and providing guidance during issues

·       Firewall knowledge is a plus

·       Availability for storm restoration issues/travel as required

·       Availability to travel to the West Palm Beach market as required a few times per month

Job Overview

This job is responsible for overseeing long-term strategic planning to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements, including planning for remote hardware and communications facilities, development and implementations. Employees in this role manage Voice (PBX) and Data Networks, Security Infrastructure, Wireless Fixed Networks, Voice Radio Systems, Data Radio Systems, and Messaging, for both FPL-owned and outsourced networks utilized by FPL entities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Defines and develops methodology to ensure compatibility of all software and hardware products at each facility
•   Provides ongoing coordination in the analysis, acquisition, and installation of remote hardware and software
•   Supervises network analysts
•   Oversees conformance to security and federal regulatory commitments and local and state governmental codes
•   Manages engineering recommendations for both FPL-owned and outsourced networks, utilized by FPL entities
•   Manages engineering resources to implement solutions for all FPL entities
•   Provides financial analysis and input for all technical solutions provided
•   Manages Information Technology (IT) system infrastructure deployments in support of project groups
•   Oversees deployment of IT Network Security and monitoring to ensure network integrity
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
•  Experience:7+ years
•  Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years
