Position Specific Description

The IT Change Management Lead will be accountable for managing the change queue and ensuring changes are made efficiently, with minimum risk to the GCS, NEET, and future organizations. The Lead Change Manager should, ideally, facilitate change, not stop it. An effective change manager allows changes to be moved quickly to the production environment. The Change Manager has a duty to protect the IT systems of the organization, ensuring the changes that are made do not present an unacceptable risk. He or she must look for conflicts in active changes and determine the most appropriate time to commit changes to the production systems.
 

This is position will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of IT Changes to Critical Applications, BES Cyber systems, and IT Infrastructure components required to support Critical Systems. Must understand IT Infrastructures layers and their impacts to Critical Business Functions, from Data Center to Database Servers. Must understand Service Level Mapping and assist business owners in completing Service Impact Trees. Responsible for creating and maintaining a sound Change Management Policy and Process that follows ITIL Standards and meets NERC/CIP Audit requirements. Responsible for establishing and meeting Change Management KPI’s such as Rate of Change, Failed Change, change review, Baseline Management. Work with Configuration Management, Problem Management, Incident Management to establish and maintain Service Availability Metrics

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and record requests for change (RFCs)
  • Categorize change requests
  • Prioritize changes according to business objectives
  • Manage the transition of changes from the development team to operations
  • Accept or reject RFCs
  • Convene the change advisory board (CAB) meetings
  • Coordinate the building, testing, and implementation of changes
  • Mediate conflicts related to the change where necessary
  • Create and circulate the change schedule
  • Conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) after the implementation of changes
  • Maintain all change documentation (policies, procedures, templates, etc.)
  • Produce management reports
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of ITIL Release and Deployment Management experience 
  • Expertise in Service Mapping and Impact analysis 
  • 7+ years of experience leading IT Operational Functions, such as Problem Management, Change Management, Incident Management, Release Management, Service Delivery 
  • Prior expertise in NERC/CIP Operational requirements, with an understanding of CIP 10 Baseline Control Evidence 
  • Experience in planning and managing complex projects, combining process, organizational change, and technology workstreams
  • Exceptional, highly polished written and oral communication skills, able to develop executive-level presentations for EVP and Board level audiences
  • Facilitate senior-level meetings to surface and resolve sensitive issues and drive alignment
  • Consult and coach project teams
  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
  • Coach impacted managers and supervisors
  • Manage communications, training, and stakeholder engagement
  • Responsible for the success of all change management deliverables 
  • Experience leading initiatives with remote and onsite teams
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement principles
     

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • ITIL Certifications
  • LSS – Green Belt
