Position Specific Description
We are seeking an engaging engineering lead to drive OPGW/Distribution fiber design along with joint development of MPLS network with IT Team. This position will bridge the gap between existing/proposed OPGW/Distribution fiber facilities, fiber network requirements, verification of field conditions with Field Operations and capturing of these in fiber strand management system. Will also be part of team on developing network design, ordering and turn up of MPLS network on fiber infrastructure.
Job Overview
This is responsible for leading the design and project management of the engineering groups including complex projects. This position monitors the quality of design and ensures that design standards and cost effective designs are consistently applied. Employees in this job drive results from integrated technology to improve the quality of design, the management of work and drive process improvement.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervises workload management
• Leads information research, reporting and tracking
• Assures that communications with internal and external customers are conducted as appropriate and resolve customer concerns/complaints
• Promotes safety consciousness and adherence to OSHA and Company safety requirements
• Guides decision making for effective utilization of Company assets and ensure that company standards, policies and tariffs are adhered to
• Motivates and develop employees to ensure an efficient and effective workforce
• Leads training, development and coordination effort
• Researches, develops and analyzes tracking and improvement measures
• Assures implementation of standards, policies, training, and support of organization
• Tracks and reports on performance
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's - Engineering
• Experience:6+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
- Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
- Master's Degree
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Master Black Belt
