Position Specific Description

The Gas Operations Technician will have responsibility for performing operation and maintenance activities that have been assigned to them. The main duties and responsibilities are:

 

Plant Operations

  • Participate in routine and major maintenance activities as assigned. Plant Operators may, from time to time be temporarily assigned to work at other facilities to assist in routine and major maintenance work.
  • Conduct all work in a safe and efficient manner, observing all safety regulations and safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in and/or conduct on-site monitoring and recordkeeping activities in accordance with relevant permits and spill plans.
  • Operate, adjust, and maintain equipment in order to maintain a status of compliance with relevant permits. This includes, but is not limited to, fuel consumption rates, temperature thresholds, pressure thresholds, energy output, emissions output, etc.
  • Work with Plant Manager to help manage onsite inventory to ensure that adequate materials, supplies, spare parts, tooling, etc. are either onsite or are promptly available.

 

Maintenance

  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance activities as assigned in accordance with manufacturer’s operation and maintenance guides.
  • Obtain engine oil samples as directed from every operating engine per the defined schedule for the facility assigned. Ensure that samples are shipped for analysis on the same day that they are collected.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair, including date and time of work, engine hours at time of work, and a detailed description of work performed.
  • Regularly participate in facility cleaning and housekeeping work, maintaining all aspects of the assigned facility in a safe and presentable condition.

 

Attendance Requirements

  • Regular 8-hour shifts; 40 hours per week
    • Shift start and end times determined by management
    • Absences during regular shift(s) require use of PTO
  • Overtime as needed at management’s discretion
    • Overtime work compensated at 1.5 times base hourly-equivalent pay rate, or as state law dictates
  • Participates in on-call rotation as assigned by supervisor

Job Overview

This job is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the pipeline and gathering systems on a day to day basis. Employees in this role ensure that regular operational and maintenance activities are carried out on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, including the capture of gas samples, maintenance of gas metering equipment, and launching and retrieving pipeline rigs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Pulls Gas samples at central delivery points (CDPs)
•   Drives Right-of-ways to observe for pipeline damage/leaks
•   Performs metering maintenance
•   Performs general maintenance of equipment
•   Interacts with landowners and production personnel
•   Communicates effectively throughout all levels of the organization
•   Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Ability to work extended hours
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•  High School Grad / GED
•  Experience:3+ years
