Position Specific Description
Everyday our employees help us deliver safe, affordable, and reliable service to our more than 4.9 million customers. They are helping shape our company and how our customers see us. This position reports to a Regional Plant General Manager and is currently based at the West County Energy Center in Loxahatchee, FL. Placement at other Florida power plant locations will be considered for candidates based on qualifications and operational needs. This position will be responsible for driving best in class safety and environmental performance, managing all aspects of operations and maintenance to maximize plant reliability, and for the development of high performance teams to support 24/7 operation. This position is a developmental role for future growth opportunities within our Power Generation Division Operations Team. Upon determination, timing and under general direction, this individual shall be able to manage all aspects of site business and operations in order to achieve all production and business targets while maintaining an injury-free work site. Power plant or industrial plant experience is strongly preferred.
Job Overview
Leaders in this role oversee a team at a generation facility. Individuals are accountable for all aspects of the management and performance of both the physical and human assets in their assigned facility.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in all aspects of operation and maintenance
- Manages the technical performance of the plant
- Develops and manages site budget
- Leads the safety of the facility and personnel
- Complies with all regulations and policies
- Oversees personnel development and succession planning
- Drives the continuous improvement of performance
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 7+ years
- Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years
