Position Specific Description

Please note: this position is based out of the Jupiter West location.

NextEra Energy is seeking a Senior User Experience (UX) Web Designer who will play a crucial role in creating exceptional user experiences for internal enterprise applications in support of Nuclear Business Unit. This position involves collaborating cross-functionally with various stakeholders, UX team members, and ensuring design quality and consistency across projects.

Overview

This job is responsible for creating exceptional user experiences for nuclear business unit specific applications. The Senior User Experience Web Designer works cross-functionally and collaboratively to design the graphical user interface and experience for applications and websites, guiding developers through fulfilling the design experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other User Experience Designers to ensure design consistency across multiple concurrently developed applications.
• Conduct user research, including interviews and surveys, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that address user needs and business objectives.
• Collaborate with product management, developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative design solutions.
• Document detailed user stories/requirements and coordinate cross-functional meetings.
• Guide developers to modify HTML, CSS, and JavaScript concepts to ensure alignment with designed experiences.
• Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on user feedback and analytics.
• Contribute to presentations and report design progress to the Agile Delivery Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in UX design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for the user.
• Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
• Experience in the energy or utility sector.
• Familiarity with Design Thinking and Agile development processes.
• Certification in UX design or related disciplines.
• Process Improvements Six Sigma Certifications a plus.
