Position Specific Description

Do you love to work independently and travel throughout the US?  In this position you can use your electrical engineering degree to apply your five (5+) years of engineering knowledge and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields.  In this position you will Install, maintain, and repair protection and control equipment (instrument transformers, protective relays, remote terminal units, and communications equipment) at NEXTera Energy Resources substations and Power Plants.  You will also be responsible for compliance documentation for equipment testing and maintenance.  You will assume a lead role to plan and complete work requiring engineering judgment in selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. In this position you will work independently to perform most assignments and provide new solutions to problems encountered, however technical guidance for unusual or complex problems is always available.  You will coordinate work with other operating or engineering units to facilitate assignment completion and assist in training less experienced personnel to perform routine tasks.

This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.

•   Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
•   Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Ability to work extended hours
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's - Engineering
•  Experience:5+ years

Preferred Qualifications


•  Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
•  Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
•  Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
•  Master's Degree
•  Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
•  Six Sigma Master Black Belt
