Position Specific Description

The selected candidate for this role can expect to perform the following duties:

  • Work with the team to help lead the group’s development of a world class Design and Standard capability
  • Part of the team to design, engineer, and document operational learning of battery storage and solar PV pilot projects to identify optimal applications and methods to mitigate grid risks posed by these cutting edge applications
  • Develop interconnection policies, standards, and procedures
  • Consistently apply tariff and legal guidelines to all work.
  • Responsible for developing, quantifying, costing and providing  complete estimates for FPL Renewable Projects.
  • Reviews designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate.
  • Coordinate and interface with other departments to ensure communication and understanding of proposal/project objectives and the most efficient and productive utilization of resources
  • Provide technical guidance, review FPL standards and make recommendations to improve interconnection standards.
  • Reviews layouts, designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate.
  • Work with FPL’s Integrated Supply Chain Group to establish market pricing to meet project time line.
  • Establish, build and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate checks.

Employees in this role evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects. This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.

•   Delivers standards, policies, training, and support of organization
•   Researches, develops, and applies improvement measures
•   Works on all aspects of engineering design and permitting
•   Works with other departments within organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
•   Meets attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's - Engineering
•  Experience:5+ years

Preferred Qualifications

•  Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
•  Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
•  Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
•  Master's Degree
•  Six Sigma Master Black Belt
