Position Specific Description

Power Delivery is responsible for the safe, reliable delivery of power for Florida Power & Light.  Within Power Delivery, Business Services is responsible for financial forecasting, analysis, and compliance for Power Delivery’s ~$3.0 B annual budget. Business Services works across the different departments within Power Delivery to ensure that the business unit meets or exceeds it financial commitments and provides advisory services to the organization.

The Senior Analyst within Power Delivery Business Services is responsible for developing annual budgets and financial analyses for cash flow forecasts. Employees in this role track cash flows, analyze and develop necessary countermeasures related to cost trends and drivers.

 Additional Responsibilities:
•   Develops annual area budget requests
•   Identifies emerging/contingency items that may need additional funding throughout the year
•   Develops variance reports and long-range planning goals
•   Generates forecasts and/or budget analysis
•   Provides financial analysis
•   Tracks, analyzes and identifies opportunities and trends in activities
•   Communicates financial positions to leadership
•   Formulates corrective action recommendations to ensure financial targets are met
•   Provides mentorship/guidance to other personnel
•   Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

 

This role will be based out of the Power Delivery corporate office in Jupiter, FL and will require travel throughout the Broward area and other FPL service territories. 

Job Overview

Employees in this role support senior management decision making via financial modeling and analysis, including but not limited to, revenue requirements and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis, and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts complex analysis of financial impacts to issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department forecasting models
  • Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.
  • Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
  • Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
  • Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
  • Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management 
  • Acts as a mentor to lower level employees
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s - Accounting / Finance
  • Master’s - Accounting / Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
