Position Specific Description

Senior Director, NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Program

 

The Senior Director, NERC CIP Program, reports to the Senior Vice President, Power Delivery.  This position will lead the re-creation and implementation of an effective, sustainable NERC CIP compliance program with at least the following features: 

 

  • A consistent, company-wide NERC CIP compliance policy and CIP compliance standards, procedures and work instructions;
  • Documented NERC CIP compliance responsibilities that link each CIP requirement to the individuals and managers responsible for leading required compliance activities, with effective change management controls;
  • Ownership of enterprise training, evidence retention and activity scheduling
  • Periodic third-party reviews of NERC CIP compliance;
  • Progress reports to senior management on identified NERC CIP compliance gaps and efforts to close identified gaps; and
  • PIP goals of employees and their supervisors responsible for NERC CIP compliance that clearly describe their NERC CIP compliance responsibilities.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for ensuring compliance to NERC reliability standards for the Power Delivery organization by directing a range of strategic and tactical processes. Leaders in this role ensure regulatory requirements are developed, met, and managed effectively.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Directs and provides guidance to compliance managers on standards issues
  • Reviews policy and strategy of business unit related to weekly NERC/FERC standards
  • Provides support to regulatory review teams and efforts
  • Reviews short-term compliance reporting activities
  • Provides oversight of comprehensive, cross-functional projects
  • Directs planning, coordination and issue resolution of pole attachment survey and permit processes
  • Provides guidance and direction on regulatory rules, regulations and requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
     
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 12+ years
  • Supervisory/Management Experience: 6+ years
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Master’s Degree
