Position Specific Description

Our NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) Operations Department is looking for a Sr Compliance Analyst - CIP to join their team.  In this role, your primary duties will be to provide technical analysis, oversight, and on-going support for NextEra Energy Transmission operating companies to identify and meet state, federal and independent system operator compliance obligations.  

 

This position will have an emphasis on applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC) critical infrastructure protection (CIP) requirements for bulk electric system, cyber systems, and assets, including substations and control centers for the NEET operating companies.  In addition, this position will work on specific NEET compliance initiatives, including but not limited to, NEET’s development into the NextEra Information Command Center.  As a key member of the NEET Operations Compliance team, you will report to the Director of Compliance and work in close coordination with the Principal Compliance Analyst-CIP, NEET operations team, NextEra Center of Excellence and Enterprise Information Technology, system control and business management teams. This position requires overnight and multi-day travel to NEET’s operating company offices throughout the United States, and NextEra Energy Corporate Data Centers.  The selected candidate may also be asked to perform storm restoration duties.  

 

Preferred Experiences:                                                                                                                                     
•    3+ years’ experience in cyber-security compliance, information technology architecture, or utility compliance
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    3+ years building and executing a NERC CIP compliance program, with knowledge of NERC’s operations and planning requirements a plus
•    Information Technology and/or Energy Management System architecture experience
•    Key role experience with a NERC regional entity or a regional transmission organization
•    Project Management Professional (PMP)

 

Preferred office location is Jupiter, FL however the selected candidate may office out of Juno Beach or Miami, FL locations. 

Job Overview

This job is responsible for assisting in the management and coordination the Company’s compliance activities. Employees in this job provide interpretive guidance and training; and oversee the development of business unit controls for new regulations or new business initiatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Ensures content of compliance policies and procedures are up-to-date
•   Maintains the Companys compliance intranet site as an education and informational sharing tool
•   Assists managers in the development and delivery of compliance training
•   Maintains all electronic files, reports, filed documents, etc. related to compliance activities
•   Monitors compliance activities at regulatory agencies and informs managers, directors, and business units
•   Communicates new or revised compliance documentation
•   Provides oversight, analysis and guidance to employees and/or business units
•   Prepares Executive Management Reports
•   Performs spot checks of business unit controls, analyzes and presents results
•   Conducts benchmarking research on best practices
•   Works with the appropriate departments to gain agreement, makes changes, and revises the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics or Senior Officer Code as necessary
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's Degree
•  Experience: 4+ years
