Join our power delivery engineering team as an Associate Engineer. To qualify for this role, you must have or be pursuing an undergraduate or masters level degree in an engineering or related technical field with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. A minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0 is required. This role is not open for sponsorship now or in the future. It is the applicant’s responsibility to obtain and maintain work authorization throughout their employment with the company.

 

Travel between worksites and other locations is an essential job function and expectation of the position. You must hold a valid driver's license and have a personal motorized vehicle. Selected candidates will be expected to spend a significant portion of their time attending meetings at other worksites or in the field. Those also selected for a Protection & Control position will be required to drive to various substations assigned in a specified service area that are not readily accessible through public transportation. 

 

As a power deliver Associate Engineer, you can expect to:

  • Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects
  • Work on small projects or portions of larger projects. Support development of standards and engineering guidelines, conduct analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provide recommendations.
  • Leverage new technology and Smart Grid solutions to provide superior service to our customers
  • Exercise project management, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting
  • Build communication skills, create presentations, attend and support meetings
  • Participate in all aspects of engineering design, permitting and construction
  • Work with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
  • Interact with customers that you encounter to ensure award-winning customer service
  • Apply design skills and utilize design programs to maintain and enhance our electric grid

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Works on all aspects of engineering design and permitting
•   Assists with project management, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting
•   Acts as a single point of contact for low to complex projects for the department
•   Assists with policies, training, and support of organization
•   Prepares communications, presentations and conducts meetings
•   Assists with research, development, and improvement measures
•   Meets attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's - Engineering
•  Experience:0+ years
