Position Specific Description

This role will be working on the Business Services Systems team. To be considered for this role, candidates should have strong analytical skills, communication skills, and IT Project Management experience (preferred). This role will be working on a wide variety of short and long term projects, and will collaborate with IT, Property Accounting, and Operations. The lead project manager may work on a range of system and process enhancements, including, system parity, process documentation, user acceptance testing, job closing and invoice payments, and other operations or accounting support tasks as needed.

 

Position can be filled at any FPL location.

Job Overview

Employees in this role lead and provide technical direction on business unit projects and/or project participants. Individuals plan, coordinate, and manage complex or long term projects to ensure completion of design and construction within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Employees are proficient in all aspects of distribution design, and fully knowledgeable in the interpretation and administration of company policies and procedures pertaining to distribution design.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains thorough knowledge of new developments and/or technology pertaining to the project(s)
  • Monitors and recommends changes for improvement and cost savings
  • Communicates relevant project information and routine status updates to stakeholders and team members
  • Provides project progress/updates with internal or external customers
  • Prepares and processes required agreements
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to lower level project managers
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s - Engineering
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
