Position Specific Description

Come join the exciting world of Power Delivery Information Technology!  We develop the technology solutions that enable FPL to operate one of the most advanced electric networks in the nation.

Job Overview

This position is an IT Business Analyst Intern which supports Agile software development needs for field operations across Power Delivery.

 

This individual will be involved with analyzing business processes and practices in an effort to focus the design and implementation of information technology solutions that meet the business initiatives. This individual collaborates on an on-going basis with the business and technical project stakeholders and applies proven communications, analytical and problem solving skills to help support the development process, and to ensure the project deliverables meet specifications.

 

Key Responsibilities & Knowledge Areas include:

  • Agile experience beneficial
  • Possess strong presentation & communication skills, with both technical and business audiences
  • Possesses a “critical thinking mindset” to understand operational objectives by studying business functions and evaluate how technology can enable efficiencies
  • Ability to partner with Operational Business Leads to understand business goals and supports story alignment activities
  • Ability to design solutions by analyzing requirements; constructing people, process and technology visuals (Design Thinking skills preferred)
  • Ability to improve business outcomes by studying current practices, identifying areas of opportunity, and proposing design modifications to delivery tangible value
  • Act as Software Quality advocate for the team by continuously improving quality automation outcomes across the team (CI/CD skills highly desirable).
  • Provide functional and process assistance to application developers & testers
  • Possess strong data analysis skills
  • Operate with a highly adaptive mindset & be able to thrive in a continuously changing environment
  • Harness creativity across the organization to solve complex problems, improve solutions and adapt business models in an ever-changing world

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: High School Graduate/ Working toward bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Engineering

Preferred Qualifications: Analytical Problem Solving, Good Listening Skills, Team Player, Effective Written Communications, Effective Verbal Communications
 

 

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects
  • Completes challenging projects and assignments
  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school grad / GED
  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
