Position Specific Description

Smile you've found us! At NextEra Energy, our people are our greatest asset and our Power Delivery team is seeking a Big Data Solutions Architect to help take us to the Next Era. In this role you will develop and maintain high-level designs for logical and technical architecture in the Power Delivery business space.  You will provide leadership, strategic decision-making, and guidance within technical disciplines, responding to disruptive big data technologies and solving unique and complex problems. You will also facilitate and orchestrate the delivery of targeted business outcomes through technical decisions as well as serve as top-level experts and visionaries in the development of roadmaps, strategy, and design related to the Power Delivery domain.

 

Preferred Specific Qualifications for Data Solution 

We prefer a candidate with 5+ years of experience as a Big Data Solution Architect/Big Data Engineer, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field. They should also have experience using the following software/tools:

·       Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.

·       Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.

·       Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Glue

·       Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.

·       Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, Scala, etc.

.       AWS hands on experience and AWS cloud architect or big data certification a plus

 

  1. Experience designing, building, and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets. (HiveMQ, Kafka, Cassandra, S3, Redshift)

       2. Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify solutions for improvement.

       3. Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

       4. Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management. (Preferably in Python of Spark). Working                             knowledge of algorithms for predictive analytics and machine learning.

•   Produces documented frameworks, architectures and plans how to manage the implementation and integration of a technical environment
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
