Position Specific Description
The Vendor Maintenance Manager is responsible for supporting the creation of vendor data for NextEra’s relevant systems to support the Procure to Pay function. He or she will function as the first level escalation point related to any Vendor data issues. The manager leads the day to day operations of the Vendor Maintenance team and serves as the customer service liaison for both internal and external customers. We’re looking for someone that is detailed oriented and can implement ways to combat cyber-attacks and fraud. The ideal candidate has 8+ years’ experience including 2+ years in a Management role, SAP experience, a background in Bank Fraud and/or Forensic IT or Accounting; be a good communicator, trustworthy and reliable. This individual will also serve as a mentor to the department staff.
Specific duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage team that performs the day to day vendor maintenance creation/updates, this includes, but is not limited to vendor name, address, bank information, Intercompany distinction, etc.
- Process improvement process creating/changing vendor information
- Analyzing problems/issues related to vendor maintenance
- Ensuring SOX compliance for all vendor maintenance activities
- Building and running key vendor metrics
- Approve significant vendor changes
- Managing and refining vendor data processes
- Lead the effort to create metrics to easily identify areas of improvement and address timely
- Responsible for the management and oversight of the daily operation of the vendor maintenance initiatives, including guiding team to achieve milestones, reviewing progress, communicating priorities and reporting status
- Make sure vendor maintenance is following business rules and policies and enforces adherence to a strong data governance model
- Provides leadership that represents NextEra Leadership Traits and our values to inspire and empower the team to accomplish work and meet business demands
- Communicate with stakeholders across the organization on a regular basis, providing visibility and insight on vendor maintenance policy changes, data issues, improved contingencies and corrective action plans as required
- Help in implementing new systems that would focus on controls against fraud.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP and FERC, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the Company
• Provides accounting oversight to businesses and departments within the Company and ensures proper controls are in place for accurate financial reporting
• Ensures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment
• Keeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relevant company policies, practices, and procedures
• Manages professional staff, and effectively communicates and executes performance management
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience: 8+ years
• Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Master's - Business Administration
