Position Specific Description

This position is responsible for planning and writing detailed procedures for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage (HV) electrical substation, transmission, and underground equipment including transformers, breakers, relays, switchgear, metering equipment, and wiring. The successful candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of high voltage (HV) transmission equipment, including safety practices, tooling, and maintenance techniques.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Use personal technical expertise, knowledge of safety practices and field techniques, OEM manuals, technical documentation, engineering guidance, and field investigation to produce detailed work instructions (procedures) for field technicians to safely and efficiently execute maintenance
  • Read schematics to understand electrical systems and maintenance sequences
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with customers, subject matter experts, field technicians, and leadership to develop accurate and practical content
  • Use Maximo system and business intelligence dashboards to prioritize work, delegate assignments, and manage deliverables
  • Develop/Improve internal work processes and work analytics for lean value
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering Degree OR strong technical proficiency and at least 2 years of experience with electrical substation and transmission equipment 
  • Proficiency in technical writing and communication
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word
  • Ability to travel up to 20% within the continental United States

  • Proficiency with Maximo
