Position Specific Description
As a key member of NextEra’s external-facing software as a service (SaaS) business unit, the Technical Sales rep will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge, AI-driven energy management solutions to our customers. In this capacity, you will manage the customer experience for our SaaS accounts, guiding them towards additional NextEra solutions as opportunities arise. This individual will collaborate with both the SaaS sales team and internal sales channels to identify, develop, and close NextEra 360 opportunities. This role requires consistent engagement with the sales teams at NextEra Energy Resources and Florida Power & Light (FPL), providing them with the necessary training and resources to successfully present NextEra 360 to their customers.
Throughout the customer journey, the Technical Sales Rep will lead the process from the proposal stage through to the agreement phase. You will be responsible for crafting compelling and accurate proposals for software solutions, working closely with various departments to gather necessary information. As the relationship progresses towards contracting, you will collaborate with our legal, sales, and finance teams to ensure all contracts are clear, comprehensive, and aligned with both company policies and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, write, and edit software proposals and SaaS agreements, including executive summaries, project descriptions, SLAs, technical specifications, and pricing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and synthesize information for proposals and agreements.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in all SaaS documentation.
• Maintain a repository of all proposals and agreements.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely completion and submission.
• Develop templates, processes, and best practices to streamline proposal writing.
• Act as the primary contact for assigned customers, helping them achieve their energy goals with NextEra’s solutions.
• Guide customers through the onboarding process and address inquiries and issues promptly.
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, collaborating with the sales team to present solutions.
Skills:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and accurate proposals and agreements.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, project managers, sales, marketing, legal, and finance.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and submission.
• High level of accuracy and consistency in all SaaS documentation.
• Ability to act as the primary contact for customers, guiding them through the onboarding process and addressing their needs promptly.
• Capability to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities and collaborate effectively with sales teams to present solutions.
• Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong problem-solving skills to address customer inquiries and issues effectively.
• Experience in developing templates, processes, and best practices to streamline the proposal writing process.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years in sales, customer account management, business development, or related roles, preferably within the software as a service (SaaS) or energy industry.
• Experience in the energy or utility industry.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and sustainability practices.
• Familiarity with AI-driven software solutions and their application in energy management.

- Deliver product demonstrations, technical education, and proof of concepts
- Provide input on proposals and draft scope of work
- Maintain an understanding of the customer’s industry, including industry trends, industry business processes
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
