Position Specific Description

The Business Management Strategic Initiatives team is seeking a commercial, technical and analytical Strategic Programs Lead. This role involves a variety of project management, financial analysis, executive communication, and data analysis tasks in support of the broader Business Management Organization. The successful candidate will navigate cross-regional, cross-generation, and interdisciplinary contexts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support BMO Strategic Initiatives: Utilize data to enhance workflows, integrating innovation within operational and financial processes.
  • Commercial Application Ideation: Develop and propose commercial applications for data and identify new use cases for existing and emerging tools.
  • Project Ownership: Take the lead on projects from ideation to process change management, ensuring successful implementation and integration.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify and execute opportunities for process streamlining and operational efficiency improvements through the application of advanced technology and innovative practices.
  • Comprehensive Project Management: Manage all aspects of project development including budgeting, resource planning, providing executive updates, and tracking performance metrics to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Problem Resolution: Tackle business unit challenges by implementing effective solutions and executing corrective actions promptly.
  • Market Trend and Technology Assessment: Continuously monitor and evaluate market trends and emerging technologies, proposing new solutions that can enhance the efficiency and efficacy of the Business Management Organization.
  • Executive Communication: Prepare and deliver high-level presentations and reports to executives, ensuring clear communication of strategic project developments and outcomes.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and project justification.\
  • Data Analysis: Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to extract insights and drive strategic initiatives, providing data-driven recommendations.

Job Overview

Employees in this role lead the analysis and strategy on high priority projects as assigned by senior executive management. This position works with a small cross-functional team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) to analyze, develop, and propose strategies or solutions to complex topics. Individuals rapidly identify key data, stakeholders, and the current landscape in order to effectively present ideas for executive review.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads cross-functional projects including data collection, analysis and implementation of recommendations to senior management
  • Creates and communicates formal presentation of proposal to business leaders at higher levels of management, including executive
  • Develops hypothesis and validates them with data and discussion with appropriate Subject Matter Experts, then consults with business units for additional validation
  • Compiles and analyzes highly analytical problem solving analysis, and compiles them in a succinct manner to be reviewed by executive management
  • Develops strategies to address opportunities identified through analysis
  • Conducts research in other industries and stays abreast of innovative advancements in order to apply them to key problems
  • Interacts with senior and executive leadership, developing trust and credibility
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's - Business Administration
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt
