Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Initiatives Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with expertise in Six Sigma methodologies and a passion for driving transformational change. This role involves leading key IT processes and initiatives to enhance service levels for our customers while managing a team in IT.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute cross-functional Six Sigma quality projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct thorough data collection, analysis, and implementation of improvement recommendations.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and engage in major process reengineering activities.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, including Black Belt and Master Black Belt certification courses.
  • Create and present project deliverables and recommendations to senior management and executives.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for process improvement and provide consulting support.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Black Belts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Oversee the team's Quality Development Leadership (QDL) activities to ensure alignment with IT goals and objectives.
  • Establish performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team effectiveness and goal achievement.
  • Coordinate resource allocation and project assignments to optimize team productivity and impact.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in a technology-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives.

Job Overview

This job will use business management consulting skills to work with internal clients through all stages of strategy-based transformation engagements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides thought leadership and execution support on client assignments to craft strategy
  • Conducts both client and market development to grow the business
  • Consults with clients to identify, clarify, and solve problems critical to clients' strategy and operating success
  • Develops conclusions and recommendations, writes reports, assists in client presentations and provides implementation assistance as required
  • Constructs the analytical framework and work steps for each assignment, and leads the problem solving process associated
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience:8+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience:2+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
