Position Specific Description

The Lead Professional role on the Measurements & Standards team serves as a senior contributor and operational leader responsible for driving data quality, measurement system reliability, and performance visibility across renewable energy assets. This role supports the collection, validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of meteorological (met) data from wind and met tower systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Data Quality & Measurement System Reliability

  • Lead efforts to improve data quality, completeness, and reliability across meteorological monitoring systems
  • Monitor performance of met towers/stations, lidar, and sodar assets to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement processes that ensure consistent delivery of accurate, high-quality data to downstream stakeholders
  • Coordinate investigation and resolution of measurement system outages, communication failures, and data anomalies
  • Support continuous improvement of standards, procedures, and best practices for measurement systems and data management

 

Monitoring & Performance Visibility

  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into asset health, system performance, downtime, and data availability
  • Create actionable metrics and KPIs that enable proactive monitoring and decision-making
  • Drive automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency

 

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key measurement and monitoring vendors (e.g. NRG)
  • Drive vendor accountability through performance tracking, issue management, escalation processes, and regular business reviews
  • Collaborate with vendors to improve responsiveness, service quality, and overall performance

 

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead development and implementation of workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and visibility across team operations
  • Identify process gaps and recommend solutions that streamline execution and reduce operational risk
  • Document procedures, standards, and operational practices to support scalability and knowledge transfer

 

Lead Professional Support & Team Development

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and subject matter expertise to junior team members, helping them build capability in communications, stakeholder engagement, and change management while increasing confidence and effectiveness in their roles
  • Offer strategic oversight and constructive feedback on deliverables, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with organizational objectives while creating opportunities for skill development and knowledge transfer
  • Support professional growth through mentoring, collaborative problem-solving, and exposure to complex projects, enabling junior team members to expand their experience, strengthen critical thinking, and take on increasing levels of responsibility
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and accountability by sharing best practices, facilitating knowledge exchange, and empowering team members to contribute ideas, drive initiatives, and achieve successful outcomes

 

Job Overview

Employees in this role lead the analysis and strategy on high priority projects as assigned by senior executive management. This position works with a small cross-functional team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) to analyze, develop, and propose strategies or solutions to complex topics. Individuals rapidly identify key data, stakeholders, and the current landscape in order to effectively present ideas for executive review.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads cross-functional projects including data collection, analysis and implementation of recommendations to senior management
  • Creates and communicates formal presentation of proposal to business leaders at higher levels of management, including executive
  • Develops hypothesis and validates them with data and discussion with appropriate Subject Matter Experts, then consults with business units for additional validation
  • Compiles and analyzes highly analytical problem solving analysis, and compiles them in a succinct manner to be reviewed by executive management
  • Develops strategies to address opportunities identified through analysis
  • Conducts research in other industries and stays abreast of innovative advancements in order to apply them to key problems
  • Interacts with senior and executive leadership, developing trust and credibility
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's - Business Administration
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt
