Position Specific Description

We are looking for a Transmission Line Staff Engineer to join our team in Juno Beach, FL.  If you are the go-to person for transmission line design and want the opportunity to work on bucket list projects, consider joining the NextEra Engineering & Construction (E&C) Team.  E&C supports NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET), and together we have won nine competitive transmission line projects in North America.  E&C relies on the Staff Engineer to provide the experience, technical knowledge, and communication skills to overcome challenges and provide a competitive edge.  


This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of standards and best practice documents, conducting design reviews, introducing new technologies, leading value engineering initiatives, approving new products, providing strategic guidance for competitive transmission projects, and resolving technical issues for transmission projects during design and construction.   

 

The selected candidate for this role must have proven leadership ability, be capable of leading a team of consultants and industry experts to develop solutions to transmission line problems, enforce quality control for manufactured products, evaluate non-conformances and component failures, and improve component utilization.  The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of transmission design for overhead and underground lines and associated components and standards.  This includes poles, conductor, cable, OPGW, OHGW, insulators, bonding and grounding, structural analysis, and foundations.  

 

Desired Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management experience, proficiency with Microsoft software (Access, Excel, Word, Visio, One Note, Power BI).

Required Qualifications

•  Bachelor's - Engineering
•  Experience: 8+ years
•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
•  Certified Professional Engineer (PE)

Preferred Qualifications

•  Master's Degree
•  Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
•  Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
•  Six Sigma Master Black Belt
