Position Specific Description

This role will support the Rates & Load Forecasting teams by developing and maintaining automated reporting solutions, dashboards, and data pipelines that enable efficient, data-driven decision-making. The position will be responsible for designing, building, and publishing Power BI reports and dashboards, integrating diverse data sources, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency across business functions.

 

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Power BI and related data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), and SQL development practices. They will act as a bridge between analytics users and technical data infrastructure, translating business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and publish interactive Power BI reports and dashboards for the Rates and Load Forecasting teams.
  • Create and maintain data pipelines, leveraging SQL, Python, or other ETL tools to integrate and transform data from multiple sources.
  • Develop semantic models and DAX calculations to support analytical use cases in Power BI.
  • Collaborate with team members to automate manual reporting processes, improving speed and data consistency.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness through validation checks and reconciliation processes.
  • Manage data refresh schedules, access permissions, and report deployment across development, test, and production environments.
  • Partner with business users to translate analytical needs into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with operational and regulatory standards.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making on rates, load forecasts, and regulatory filings.
  • Document data sources, logic, and visualization standards for transparency and maintainability.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query (M).
  • Strong SQL skills for building efficient queries, views, and stored procedures.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines using Python, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent tools.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, validation, and version control practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and meet deadlines in dynamic environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting regulated utility operations, preferably in rates, forecasting, or financial analytics.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, or load analysis concepts.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing.
  • Exposure to regulatory filings, cost-of-service, or rate design data frameworks

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Researches and proposes new data sources and methods of analysis
  • Analyzes accuracy and effectiveness of load profiles and recommend improvements
  • Identifies causes for load forecast errors outside of the target range and develop solutions to improve performance
  • Develops and prepares long term and/or short term forecasting models
  • Monitors and analyzes load forecast accuracy, creates transparency into drivers causing load forecast errors, and performs load forecast variance reporting
  • Handles varied and complex projects and analysis
  • Prepares presentations and reports for management
  • Identifies and correct customers with significant load forecasting anomalies
  • Leads efforts to review and validate data inputs into the long-term forecasting model and works with cross-functional teams to correct data errors in source systems
  • Supports automation efforts to import all data into load forecasting system
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
