Position Specific Description

For this specific position, we are seeking a candidate that has experience in data analytics to research and develop algorithms, models, routines and functions to support predictive monitoring and efficient operation of fossil and renewable power plant equipment and associated machinery.

It is preferred that the candidate have a Master’s Degree or higher in Engineering or a related scientific, mathematics or similar computational field.

This position involves developing and executing remote monitoring algorithms and performing data analytics to improve reliability of the power generation fleet.

The candidate will work collaboratively with power plant equipment experts to design software monitoring solutions tailored to failure modes of that equipment.

Candidate must have the ability to develop prototype software solutions that can be used by engineers to solve complex analytic problems.

Must be able to understand and modify existing predictive models, and develop new models to improve functionality and robustness.

Candidate should be intimately familiar with the various sources of plant instrumentation, and sources data within a power plant, data acquisition systems, and how to retrieve data from various sources of data.

Candidate is expected to revise and develop new monitoring algorithms in a manner that can be translated to software code.

Candidate must have experience using popular powerful mathematical and statistical software such as Matlab, Python, R, Minitab, RapidMiner or similar.

•   Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
•   Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
•   Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
