Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is looking for a Senior Engineer to support the Distributed Generation (DG) fleet within the solar and storage organization in Engineering and Operations Support Services (EOSS). This engineer will report directly to the General Manager of the Solar and Storage organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • The senior engineer will own and be accountable for a number of key tasks
  • Be responsible for supporting reliable operation of the DG fleet. This includes troubleshooting any downed or underproducing hardware in the field, working with a SCADA engineer as needed and restoring hardware to full performance.
  • Lead Root Cause Analyses for issues in the field. Work with OEMs as needed to resolve said RCAs in a timely manner
  • Develop or evaluate countermeasures proposed by OEM for implementation in the field. Work with the operations team to develop a plan for implementation of countermeasures and support execution.
  • Develop fleet upgrades to improve the performance of the DG fleet. Conduct economic analyses as needed to determine the viability of upgrades 
  • Prepare presentations for leadership as needed to communicate the status of the DG Fleet.

 

Other responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Address data requests that come in from leadership and other teams in a timely manner. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering degree
  • 2+ years of on the job experience in solar engineering or operations.
  • Green belt certified
  • Experience with Power BI and creating dashboards
