Position Specific Description

This position is responsible for developing and executing NextEra Energy’s financing plan. The individual will lead the forecasting and modeling of potential financial decisions on key corporate metrics. In addition, the individual will lead the execution of corporate and project level financings of NextEra Energy and its subsidiaries.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a 3-year rolling financing plan, with a focused analysis on prompt year and following year financings
  • Model, analyze and optimize the impacts of the financing plan on corporate earnings, liquidity and credit metrics
  • Create presentations illustrating the impacts of various financing decisions with senior leadership
  • Successfully execute financings by managing the cross-functional teams across the NextEra organization
  • Provide financing-related support for new business development projects the company is exploring
  • Utilize relevant analytical methods and financial models to evaluate financing alternatives, ensure compliance with financial covenants and financial reporting/ due diligence requirements
  • Mentor a talented and diverse team that is committed to the company’s goals and reflective of NextEra’s values

Job Overview

Leaders in this role are responsible for financing of company projects through capital markets, banking, and private placement markets. Oversees a team that identifies and conducts complex analyses of financial impacts of issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

•   Oversees and controls budget and forecasting decisions
•   Directs the execution of financial programs
•   Oversees and directs contract program objectives and utilization of funds
•   Develops, coaches and mentors team members
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  Bachelor's Degree
•  Experience: 10+ years
•  Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years

Preferred Qualifications

•  Bachelor's - Accounting / Finance
•  Master's Degree
