Position Specific Description
The Senior Load Forecasting Analyst position is part of Load Forecasting team within Florida Power and Light Company’s Financial Planning and Analysis group, located in Juno Beach, FPL. The Senior Load Forecasting Analyst is responsible for working with other forecast analysts to develop, interpret, and communicate forecasts of customers, energy sales, and peak demands for FPL and Gulf Power. Additional responsibilities include preparing daily, monthly, and quarterly reports for executive management and external stakeholders. Experience in the energy/utility industry is highly preferred. The position requires skills in data analysis and knowledge of or experience with economics and statistics. Additionally, the position requires creative problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Other duties include:
- Work closely with the Load Forecasting team to support the development of timely and accurate forecasts
- Prepares reports on economic indicators for executive management
- Supports various business units throughout FPL and Gulf with forecasting analysis
- Leads efforts to review and validate data inputs into the long-term forecasting model and works with
- cross-functional teams to correct data errors in source systems
- Work closely with team members in Financial Planning & Analysis and the Financial Center of Excellence in explaining forecast changes and forecast variances

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Researches and proposes new data sources and methods of analysis
- Analyzes accuracy and effectiveness of load profiles and recommend improvements
- Identifies causes for load forecast errors outside of the target range and develop solutions to improve performance
- Develops and prepares long term and/or short term forecasting models
- Monitors and analyzes load forecast accuracy, creates transparency into drivers causing load forecast errors, and performs load forecast variance reporting
- Handles varied and complex projects and analysis
- Prepares presentations and reports for management
- Identifies and correct customers with significant load forecasting anomalies
- Leads efforts to review and validate data inputs into the long-term forecasting model and works with cross-functional teams to correct data errors in source systems
- Supports automation efforts to import all data into load forecasting system
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 5+ years
