Position Specific Description

The Engineering, Construction & Supply Chain Business Unit is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst .  
This role is perfect for someone with a strong foundational knowledge of financial capital forecasting, eager to apply analytical skills, and learn about Solar, Battery Storage and Wind Technology. The ideal candidate will have experience with Excel, be highly motivated, detail oriented and comfortable working with financial data to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. In addition, The implementation of AI tools with knowledge of Alteryx, Python and Macros are a must. 
The selected candidate is expected to understand financial capital forecasting, reporting systems (SAP, BPC, etc.), project safe harbor requirements, incurred spend & to-go forecasts, and develop forecast allocation models.  Specific responsibilities include coordination with Accounting, Treasury, Supply Chain, Early-Stage Construction, and Execution teams, hands-on reporting, detailed analysis of business drivers, financial planning/forecasting, ad-hoc reporting including development/maintenance of project analytics and reporting tools.  Other areas of responsibility include monthly and annual cash flows, project level spend and spend associated with identified projects, and coordination between early-stage project management and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial capital forecasts reviews.
  • Analyze financial data and create reports to support business decision-making.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering and organizing relevant financial data.
  • Responsible for monthly accrual process.
  • Support cost and schedule risk analysis and provide input. 
  • Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies.
  • Create reports for management to review variance analysis to compare actual results to budgeted or forecasted figures.
  • Build and maintain financial models in Excel to analyze trends and project future performance.
  • Create and update Excel spreadsheets for financial tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Accurately tracks costs of individual projects and forecasts end of project spend to keep costs within budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for senior management.
  • Performs accounting unitization activities to ensure SOX Compliance and accurate reporting of assets. 
  • Responsible for monthly accrual process.
  • Support cost and schedule risk analysis and provide input. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, 5 years’ experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manage complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualizations and Macros.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Python, SAP, BOBJ, and Power Bi. 

Job Overview

Employees in this role support senior management decision making via financial modeling and analysis, including but not limited to, revenue requirements and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis, and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts complex analysis of financial impacts to issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department forecasting models
  • Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.
  • Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
  • Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
  • Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
  • Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management 
  • Acts as a mentor to lower level employees
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s - Accounting / Finance
  • Master’s - Accounting / Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
