Position Specific Description
Job Overview
Employees in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating cutting-edge innovation and pilot projects. This includes selecting and exploring diverse subject areas, defining project scope, and implementing novel concepts. Technologies of interest include, but are not limited to, solar PV, energy storage, transmission, and wind.
Key Responsibilities
1) Subject matter expert (SME) of innovation in assigned subject areas
2) Manage projects without direct reports
3) Research, develop, and implement appropriate automation and other tools to optimize processes
4) Collaborate with and lead multi-disciplinary teams of internal and external industry subject matter experts for problem solving, betterment opportunities, and systems integration
5) Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define the strategic roadmap and drive digital innovation
6) Understand industry trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies
7) Write and maintain production level code in Python, R, SQL, etc.
8) Design, prototype, and test solutions to energy-related scientific and mathematical problems
9) Support and foster innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation
10) Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations
11) Maintain familiarity with industry and company progress and problems in assigned technical areas
12) Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
1) Deep understanding of integrated IT environments and cloud architecture, as well as modern software development and deployment practices
2) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
3) Ability to manage change and drive transformation within a large organization
4) Experience utilizing APIs following industry best practices
5) Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL
6) Cloud & DevOps proficiency
7) Experience with LLM integration, RAG, and prompt engineering
8) Experience with agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, or similar)
9) Proficient with code repositories like Github
10) Experience with PowerApps/Power Automate
11) Proficiency in VBA
12) Background in detailed analysis of complex systems involving large datasets
13) Doctoral Degree with 3+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience
Preferred Educational Requirements
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or related field from an ABET accredited program
