Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a Senior Accountant at the Juno Beach location. In this role, you will report to the Non-Regulated Corporate Accounting Manager and focus mainly on Corporate Accounting related activities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares or reviews monthly journal entries related to the corporate and project entities
- Prepares financial statements for certain entities
- Reviews assigned account reconciliations
- Supports monthly, quarterly & annual reporting and filing requirements , including facilitating internal and external audit requests as they arise
- Follows through on resolving accounting matters as they arise, including researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, making recommendations for solutions, and implementing determined courses of action
- Supports special projects, including process improvement initiatives, with opportunities to lead specific projects as applicable
- Mentors and coaches other team members in their development
- Prepares ad hoc analyses and reports as needed
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, plus 4+ years accounting experience required.
- CPA, CMA, MBA or Master's in Accounting is strongly preferred

• Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial status of the company
• Maintains a good understanding of, and applies, GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
• Assures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
• Prepares schedules and journal entries
• Provides guidance and direction to other team members
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's - Accounting / Finance / Business
• Experience: 4+ years
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Master's - Business Administration
