Position Specific Description
As a Senior Tranmission Business Management Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, reporting and maximizing business performance of NextEra Energy Transmission’s (NEET) Operating assets. This role works closely with financial support functions such as the Financial Center of Excellence and NEET’s financial team to support actual operations accounting in order to maximize the financial performance of NEET and monitor overall financial performance. You will be responsible for working with accounting functions to ensure correct processes are in place to capture accurate and detailed accounting and financial performance. This position works with financial planning and executives to understand drivers of variances compared to the financial plan to optimize performance or reforecast financial plans. Demonstrated ability to marshal resources in a collaborative manner without direct responsibility for staff will be key in this role.
Responsibilities include profit and loss accountability, budgeting and forecasting, capital project monitoring, compliance with financing and regulatory requirements, maintaining close working relationship with stakeholders and participating in ad hoc and special projects. Ideal candidates will have CPA, MBA and/or CFA and Regulated energy industry experience. Experience in a rate regulated environment/ Knowledge of such regulatory concepts as Rate Making, NOI, Rate Base and Regulatory Capital Structure preferred.
Job Overview
Employees in this role support the overall P and L management of one or more NextEra generating assets. Individuals review findings to be presented to senior management. This position supports budgeting and forecasting, analyzing P and L variance, participating in ad hoc and special projects and coordinates with other business units regarding initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Completes complex financial, operational, or technical project analysis
- Conducts analyses regarding issues that have an impact on the operation of a specific functional area and makes recommendations to management
- Leads medium to large project teams that support informed decision making within the business unit
- Maintains project schedules and reviews team member input and documents for technical accuracy
- Performs ad hoc projects, report development, modeling, and other miscellaneous projects
- Oversees discretionary capital improvement or restructuring projects for generating assets
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 5+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Master's - Business Administration
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
