Position Specific Description

At NextEra Energy, our people are our greatest asset and our Generation Systems Data Science team is seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in coordination and planning. This position also requires technical skills to troubleshoot software and manage the vendor software and hardware deployment at our power plants and wind sites.


NextEra is investing in cutting edge technology to support automation of our inventory management and you will work closely with Power Generation unit Central Maintenance for automating inventory management in our warehouses for Fossil and wind sites.  You will provide leadership, strategic decision-making, and guidance, reporting, planning and coordination. 

Specific Duties:

  • Promote and encourage collaboration and transparency and build trusting relationships between IT, central maintenance, power plants, wind sites and other entities within the organization
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings across several different onsite and distributed delivery teams
  • Prepare program and release backlogs, to keep the vendor objectives on schedule
  • Track, promote, and publish completed technology deployment steps and related objectives
  • Manage risk and dependencies, communicate and escalate impediments to facilitate transparency, and reduces bottlenecks
  • Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, and drives the use of agile engineering best practices and innovation
  • Report on automated RFID technology deployment for outage coordination and inventory management across our Fossil power plants and wind sites
  • Position requires frequent travel to the Fossil and wind sites across United States
  • Familiarity with networking, troubleshooting, and databases (AWS and SQL)

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Agile Project Management: 3 years
  • Six Sigma: Green Belt
  • Familiarity with RFID technology
  • Understanding of renewable energy inventory management process in large utility scale

Job Overview

This position plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to schedule and within budget. Employees in this role acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members including third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Individuals define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED

•  Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience

•  Experience: 5+ years

Preferred Qualifications

•  Project Management Professional (PMP)
