Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) is seeking a bold and driven Senior Strategy Manager – Transmission Projects to take full ownership of our most critical strategic initiatives. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, driving outcomes, and shaping the future of the transmission business.
You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of NEET’s growth strategy, owning workstreams that directly influence our most important decisions and investments. This includes:
• Designing and refining our go-to-market strategy to unlock new opportunities and competitive advantages.
• Partnering with development and commercial teams to assess potential projects across strategic, financial, regulatory, and operational dimensions.
• Shepherding multi-billion dollar transmission deals through the full approval lifecycle, from concept to due diligence, and approval.
• Project managing and executing transformational initiatives that embed both industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies like AI into our business to enhance performance, scalability, and innovation.

• Transmission project approvals advance smoothly through internal processes, with no delays or rejections due to gaps in strategic analysis, documentation, or stakeholder alignment.
• Leadership is equipped with clear, actionable insights that enable confident, timely decision-making across development priorities, without bottlenecks or information gaps.
• Strategic initiatives owned by the Senior Strategy Manager—such as technology integration, market entry, and project assessments—demonstrate measurable progress and contribute directly to NEET’s growth objectives.
• Cross-functional collaboration results in strong alignment across development, commercial, regulatory, and operational teams, with the Strategy Manager recognized as a trusted and accountable partner in execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Ownership
• Conduct market research, industry landscape analysis, and internal capabilities assessments to inform NEET’s strategic direction and identify growth opportunities.
• Personally own and drive strategic initiatives that are critical to NEET’s success—including go-to-market strategies, approval processes for multi-billion dollar transmission deals, and transformational efforts to modernize and scale the business.
• Translate strategic insights into actionable plans and deliverables that directly support leadership decision-making and long-term business objectives.
• Ensure all work reflects a deep understanding of NEET’s business model, competitive environment, and operational realities, with a focus on clarity, impact, and execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with development, commercial, regulatory, and operational teams to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution.
• Engage with subject matter experts across the business to gather insights, challenge assumptions, and strengthen project evaluations.
• Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to drive momentum and clarity across complex initiatives.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Identify and implement best practices and emerging technologies—including AI and digital tools—that enhance NEET’s strategic capabilities.
• Continuously improve strategic processes and frameworks to increase efficiency, transparency, and impact.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the transmission business and proactively surface opportunities for growth, transformation, and differentiation

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Own and execute strategic workstreams that support NEET’s growth and development priorities.
- Develop high-quality materials and analyses that support project approvals, leadership decisions, and long-term planning.
- Coordinate and conduct strategic assessments of transmission opportunities, including financial modeling, regulatory analysis, and operational feasibility.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and clarity across all phases of project evaluation and execution.
- Identify and implement best practices and technologies that improve strategic outcomes and business performance.
- Maintain a strong understanding of NEET’s business model, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Communicate insights and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior leadership.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Experience in the energy industry, infrastructure development, or other capital-intensive sectors with comparable complexity
• Familiarity with regulatory environments, including FERC, RTOs, and ISOs, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and navigate these frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA or equivalent master’s degree, or other advanced experience with a focus in management, strategy, or finance
• Experience at a top-tier consulting firm or comparable organization, ideally within the energy or infrastructure practice
Job Overview

This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
- Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
- Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
- Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
