Position Specific Description

In this role, you will drive the future of energy infrastructure by structuring integrated power solutions to enable large loads, including AI data centers, through an all-of-the-above-forms of energy approach. The role integrates NextEra Energy's core competencies in natural gas generation, wind generation, solar generation, battery energy storage, and transmission solutions to enable large data center loads across the country. You will lead cross-functional teams to advance these large integrated infrastructure projects and lead the projects to commercial execution. This high-impact role offers executive exposure and positions you at the center of NextEra's strategic growth, supporting transformative energy projects that will power gigawatt-scale energy centers.
Core Activities
- Execute multi-billion-dollar transactions including complex energy supply structuring, M&A, joint ventures, and development projects
- Support the strategic integration of multiple forms of energy sources to enable large data center loads
- Support senior leadership with strategic recommendations and detailed project analysis
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across development, finance, and operations teams
Preferred Experience
- Looking for a motivated professional with a preferred background in energy markets, development of energy infrastructure, oil and gas, or energy origination
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high ownership mentality
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence across all organizational levels

Job Overview
Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
- Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
- Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
- Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad/GED
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
