Senior Project Engineer - Distributed Generation (Northeast)

Position Specific Description

The Project Engineer is the technical lead on a project from award through energization. They are responsible forcreating the Basis of Design and directing, performing, and reviewing the engineering activities necessary todevelop, permit, erect, start-up, and commence commercial project sites. Candidates must show excellenttechnical judgment to lead medium and large Distributed Generation projects from conceptual engineering tocommercial operation, coordinating multiple internal and external parties. Successful candidates will be able toprioritize their own work, present technical information clearly and concisely, build meaningful businessrelationships with cross functional stakeholders, and drive toward ever-increasing efficiency balancing innovationand standardization.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and apply good working knowledge of solar, electrical and/or building industry codes andconstruction practices especially NEC.
• Apply experience in the design, construction, and/or operation of solar/storage facilities to ensuresuccessful completion of a portfolio of projects.
• Exemplify an understanding on fundamental engineering principles, especially electrical engineering.
• Experience using PVSyst, SAM or other commercial solar energy modeling programs.
• Proven analytical capabilities in solar energy assessment, circuit protection and fault analysis, and optimalsolar and storage sizing.
• Apply deep understanding of project drivers and stakeholders, identifying development, procurement,schedule, design and construction risks and mitigation strategies.
• Share knowledge and provide technical support to others, fostering continuous improvement across theteam.
• Experience designing with AutoCAD or Civil3D.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Ability to manage many projects and priorities.
• Ability and willingness to travel to projects sites (typically 20-30%).
