Position Specific Description

 

The Senior Paralegal - e-Discovery Specialist is responsible for the execution and management of the Company’s e-discovery projects and will provide litigation e-discovery support.

Primary responsibilities include assisting in organizing and maintaining Electronically Stored Information (ESI) and other litigation documents on e-discovery platforms such as Relativity and Microsoft Purview.

 

Position Specific Qualifications
•    BA/BS degree in legal studies, computer science, or related field.
•    Minimum 5 years in litigation support/legal industry.
•    Knowledge of eDiscovery best practices and industry standards.
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Purview.
•    Knowledge of Relativity (Review Certification preferred).
•    Strong understanding of the e-discovery process including collection, processing, review, and production.
•    Demonstrated experience managing multiple, concurrent projects involving cross-functional teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
•    Strong communication (written and oral), management, teamwork and interpersonal skills.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Collaborate with the Company’s internal legal team to understand the case scope and requirements and identify key custodians and data sources.
•    Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and strategies with the Company’s internal legal team and outside counsel.
•    Set up and manage document review platforms.
•    Monitor review processes for efficiency, accuracy, and legal compliance.
•    Identify key documents, trends, and insights for cases or investigations.
•    Generate search terms to ensure comprehensive and effective data retrieval for legal matters, occasionally collaborating with Corporate Security and Internal Investigations to do so.
•    Export data and manage the production of documents for legal review.
•    Act as a liaison between the Company’s internal legal and IT teams, and outside counsel.
•    Conduct risk assessments and mitigate data security and privacy risks.
•    Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
•    Stay updated on e-discovery regulations and best practices.
 

Job Overview

Employees in this position are responsible for providing paralegal support to the company and for the attorneys within the law department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under limited supervision:

  • Drafts and edits legal documents based on edits and input from corporate attorneys
  • Participates in special projects or activities related to the legal discipline being supported  
  • Performs legal and transaction related research
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certification
