Position Specific Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to join our Transmission Strategy & Integration (TSI) team at NextEra Energy Resources. The successful candidate will drive NextEra Energy Resources' strategic response to evolving market conditions through comprehensive Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) management and advanced grid modeling capabilities in an increasingly complex energy landscape.
The Senior Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Management, Portfolio Management & Intelligence (PMI), and Interconnection Services to mitigate basis exposure, optimize portfolio returns, and proactively manage transmission-related risks. This role is critical as we navigate reduced curtailment reimbursements and enhanced offtaker-favorable contract terms that are reshaping our market approach.
This position offers a significant opportunity to transform our FTR strategy from historical performance-based approaches to sophisticated physics-based grid modeling that incorporates anticipated outages and seasonal variability. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that directly impact project returns by protecting our growing portfolio of hub-settled PPAs from extreme basis excursions through strategic participation in SPP and ERCOT FTR auctions.
We have the best team in the business and are looking for hardworking, analytical, and innovative leaders to join our team and make a meaningful impact on NextEra's continued growth and market leadership.

- Driving continuous optimization of FTR portfolio to protect assets from extreme basis excursions and improve overall project returns
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to develop advanced grid monitoring tools and sophisticated modeling capabilities that incorporate anticipated outages and seasonal variability
