Position Specific Description

This position can sit in any of the following locations:

  • Juno Beach, FL
  • Miami, FL 
  • Houston, TX 
  • San Francisco, CA 

 

Ensure the NEER SCADA and revenue metering system, meets the organization’s SLA uptime requirements. When critical issues occur assist in coordination and resolution of the RCA (Root Cause Analysis). If SLA cannot be met, coordinate with the team to reduce the severity of the event. This includes communication and coordination with onshore and offshore resources and 3rd party vendors and contractors. Communicate with all members of the SCADA support team of outstanding issues and areas needing attention. Backfill documentation and procedures when new functionality is determined to be affective.

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Related Field Desired

5 -10 years of experience in a combination of the following areas:

 

  • 5 years of understanding of server architectures, Operating Systems (Windows/LINUX/Unix).
  • 3+ years supporting and developing for SCADA, MV90, ITRON API and revenue metering systems
  • 4+ years identifying, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems using critical thinking and analytical skills in fast paced environment preferred.
  • Understanding of project life cycles (Waterfall and Agile)
  • Working knowledge of server operating systems and virtual environments
  • Understand SAN and Database technologies (EMC/ Oracle , MS SQl, mySQL) performance and communications
  • Experience with network and file protocols including HTTP, SFTP, XML, HTML, Modbus, REST, and SSH.
  • Understanding of networking concepts ( firewalls, routers, switches)

Motivated individual, who can work independently and in a team

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

 

Job Functions:  

 

  • Monitor Real Time systems and assist in outage events (24/7/365 alongside Team)
  • Assure the continuous operation of the environment
  • Supports and monitors production and stage environments and applications to assure a minimal outage to all applications
  • Improves speed, efficiency and stability of deployment and production environments
  • Creates appropriate documentation (JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNOW)
  • Makes recommendations for improving existing architecture
  • Participates and plans disaster recovery testing and implementation
  • Participates in regular staged releases to production and other environments as needed
  • Works in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of employees, clients and/or vendor
  • Analyze historical alarm logs to assure efficient resolution
  • Cross train others in group on new application environments and practices.

•  Participates in the change management and  service ticket management processes, including receiving, resolution monitoring and ensuring customer satisfaction

•  Leads projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered

•  Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems

•  Designs, develops and  tests experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames

•  Ensures that applications processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation

•  Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems as required

•  Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed

•  Performs other job-related duties as assigned
