Position Specific Description

The Sr. IT Business Systems Analyst, Tax, will be an analyst responsible for supporting the Corporate Tax Department.  The ideal applicant is a highly-engaged individual with a working knowledge of corporate tax operations, business systems processes, and technology solution offerings.

 

The role will identify, decompose, and deliver technology solutions to business problems.  The role will interface with the business stakeholders on a daily basis and will be a key contributor in furthering the tax technology transformation across Corporate Tax. 

 

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Complete as-is process mapping for tax business processes
  • Interview tax stakeholders to gather, document, analyze, and decompose business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Work with external consultants and cross-functional IT teams to conduct feasibility analysis, evaluate, and estimate the delivery of IT technology solutions
  • Participate in sprint planning, refine backlog, and work with Agile teams to ensure IT solutions meet the defined acceptance criteria
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all applications supported by Tax IT, including the SAP Tax Data Warehouse, Corptax, ONESOURCE, PowerPlan, and others
  • Draft training material, job aids, and user guides.  Educate stakeholders on the internal work intake, approval, and prioritization process
  • Fulfill Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit requests and own the maintenance of SOX narratives and general computer controls
  • Participate in building the short and long-term tax technology applications roadmap

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with tax applications (Corptax, ONESOURCE products, etc.)
  • Experience with process automation technologies (UiPath, Alteryx, etc.)
  • Experience with document management systems (Preferably OpenText)
  • Experience using the Atlassian JIRA issue tracking tool

  • Uses knowledge of business processes to identify interdependencies and functional gaps
  • Builds strong working understanding of the technical solution being delivered and analyzes and determines failure points in the solution
  • Contributes to the application testing process (directly or to support end users)
  • Creates and updates documentation, as appropriate, for selected project framework
  • Maintains a familiarity with market trends in technology
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
