Position Specific Description

Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Business Intelligence Analyst with over 5 years of experience, specializing in PowerBI and data visualization tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and extensive experience in ETL and ELT tools, such as DBT and AWS Glue. Previous experience in an AWS environment, utilizing Lambda and other serverless services, is essential. Strong SQL skills are a must, and a preference for Python skills is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain insightful dashboards and reports using PowerBI and other data visualization tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Implement and manage ETL/ELT processes using tools like DBT and AWS Glue, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
  • Utilize serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda to optimize data workflows and enhance performance.
  • Provide strategic insights to support decision-making processes, leveraging strong SQL skills to analyze complex data sets.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on analytical objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or related domain.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and other data visualization tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of ETL and ELT processes, with experience in tools such as DBT and AWS Glue.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including Lambda and serverless architectures.
  • Strong SQL skills, capable of handling complex queries and data manipulation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation tasks.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Job Overview

This position works with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and analytic systems that help end users analyze data in a data warehouse, data mart, or other data storage facility. Employees in this role manage the data extraction, transformation, movement, loading, cleansing, and updating processes. Individuals utilize their intimate knowledge of the business data, BI tools, and their use to facilitate in-depth business process analyses.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•  Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements and integrates BI applications into technical infrastructure and existing business processes, including reporting, dashboards and analytical data structures

•  Provides functional guidance to business unit personnel, and develops end user training and business-orientated metadata definitions

•  Designs and writes the scripts required to extract, transform, clean, and move data and metadata 

•  Participates in the change management and service ticket management processes, including receiving, resolution monitoring, and ensuring customer satisfaction

•  Works with application vendor as well as licensing of the application

•  Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems

•  Ensures that systems and processes (including those of external service providers) comply with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and other applicable policies, standards, and legislation.

•  Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed

•  Meets daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements   

•  Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED

•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

•  Experience: 4+ years
