Position Specific Description

This position supports the internal cultural resources team within the corporate Environmental Services Department in cultural resource matters related to development, environmental permitting, and construction compliance of wind, solar, natural gas, transmission, gas infrastructure, and other development projects throughout the US and Canada.  The successful candidate will assist with strategy, risk management, and avoidance/mitigation measures for a wide range of cultural resources including archaeological sites, architectural structures and buildings resources, historic landscapes/scenic trails, National Historic Landmarks, and be able to help identify tribal cultural resources, etc.  The candidate will also be expected to help develop processes to ensure consistency of cultural resource survey and analysis approaches across all NEE regions, as appropriate. 
 
The job is 5 days a week onsite in Juno Beach, FL. In and out of state travel, with overnight stays and extended hours, will be required. Highly qualified remote candidates may be considered.
 
Required Skills: 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in related field (archaeology, anthropology, architectural history, historic preservation, or related field), Master’s preferred 
•    Minimum of two years of directly relevant experience   
•    Knowledge of cultural requirements and regulations 
•    Oral and written communication skills as well as analysis, problem solving, compliance, leadership, and process/project management skills 
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 
  
Primary (Essential) Job Functions:
•    Siting, licensing, permitting and due diligence support 
•    Obtaining site file access with state archaeological information centers and conduct internal constraints research and analysis of confidential cultural resource information during early-stage project development.   
•    Quality assurance reviews and technical assistance of consultant work products to minimize risk, cost and/or potential schedule delays. 
•    Supporting agency and stakeholder interactions regarding cultural resource issues 
•    Project planning, budget and schedule management 
•    Strategic management and oversight of environmental field studies and consultants 
•    Negotiations with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies 
•    Development/management of vendor contracts / purchase orders /invoices 
•    Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders 
•    Ability to work extended hours 

Job Overview

Employees in this job are responsible for providing expert environmental support for new and existing facilities including due diligence, permitting, regulatory compliance, regulatory interpretation and development, and interface with Federal, State, and Regional agencies.

•   Conducts environmental licensing and permitting activities
•   Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as, compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions
•   Monitors and analyzes environmental policies and regulations that affect the company and its customers
•   Provides the necessary support to staff to resolve environmental matters
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
