Position Specific Description

Employees in this role build and maintain robust data pipelines and processing frameworks to support AI-driven analytics and planning across FPL and FPL EMT business processes. They develop automated workflows for data ingestion, cleaning, indexing, and monitoring, enabling scalable and reliable access to dispatch, fuel, and market datasets. The role requires strong engineering skills, cloud proficiency, and a focus on operational excellence. 

 

Job Description: 
This position contributes to the development of automated data pipelines and self-service analytics tools that support EMT’s AI agent infrastructure. The employee will implement scalable data workflows, operationalize data cleaning and indexing procedures, and enable discoverability through enterprise data cataloging and governance tools. The role also involves supporting agentic coding needs and maintaining monitoring systems for pipeline health, especially in the context of grid operations, fuel forecasting, and energy market analysis. 

 

Job Roles / Responsibilities: 
i. Develop automated data pipelines for dispatch, fuel, and market data 
ii. Implement schema-aware data cleaning and fault-tolerant logic 
iii. Enable data discoverability through cataloging and indexing frameworks 
iv. Monitor pipeline health using cloud-native monitoring and alerting tools 
v. Support agentic coding needs for AI agents and EMT employees 
vi. Build self-service tools for data collection, cleaning, and indexing 
vii. Maintain and optimize EMT data infrastructure for performance and reliability 
viii. Interface with internal teams to support data operations 

 

Skills Required: 

  • Experience building scalable, automated data workflows  

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data services and infrastructure  

  • Knowledge of data cataloging, semantic indexing, and governance practices  

  • Proficiency in monitoring and operationalizing data pipelines  

Job Overview

This position implements and maintains on-premises and cloud-based company and product data infrastructure, including relational databases, non-relational databases and any other data stores required by the company or its products. Employees in this role are responsible for creating processes and implementing software to facilitate management of data including, but not limited to, data pipelines, data catalogs and overall data quality.

  • Manages and optimizes data access          
  • Designs, plans, implements and supports data infrastructure using both relational and non-relational data management solutions          
  • Tests, validates and maintains data quality across all parts of data infrastructure          
  • Maintains and manages data pipelines and data catalogs          
  • Responds to data extraction requests          
  • Mentors others or leads teams and/or projects          
  • May perform database administration-related activities          
  • Monitors health of data infrastructure          
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
