Position Specific Description

The Revenue Team Analyst (RTA) will be responsible for the settlement of FPL wholesale and qualified facilities customers and NEER/NEP purchase power agreements through preparation, processing, and reconciliation of invoices. This position will assist with the automation of the invoice processing for all contracted assets. The RTA will also be responsible for manually calculating and invoicing assets that were not economically feasible to automate, monitor meter read quality/completeness daily leading up to an invoice cycle and correct issues prior to month end close.  The RTA will create business requirements that will be submitted to the IT team for development/automation and will work closely with the IT team in ensuring the successful completion of these projects.  These business requirements will be a result of contractual settlement requirements.  Use analytical skills/resources to resolve discrepancies and/or improve processes.  Skills required:  Knowledge of accounting processes for the revenue function and process improvement mindset.  Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills.  Good teamwork, ability to interact with a cross section of business units and levels in the organization to arrive at accurate/agreed upon results.  Strong analytical skills and ability to review and understand contracts.   Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for processing wholesale settlements and invoicing across multiple NextEra Energy organizations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enhances invoicing processes and works to automate all forms of invoicing
  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert on revenue metering, revenue contract terms, and invoice process for assigned contracts
  • Analyzes data affecting settlements to identify and troubleshoot issues prior to invoicing
  • Interacts with a cross section of Business units at varying levels within the organization
  • Assists with various projects to automate settlement calculations and responsible for manually calculating and invoicing settlements that were not economically feasible to automate
  • Monitors settlement data for quality/completeness daily leading up to an invoice cycle and works closely with IT to correct issues prior to month end close
  • Prepares monthly estimate to actual variance analysis and explanations 
  • Responds timely to customer inquiries for assigned contracts
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
