Position Specific Description

In this role you will have the opportunity to work as crucial member of FPL’s program management and strategic initiatives development team, assisting and leading efforts to expand, translate, and transform uniquely designed regulated renewable programs. This role will be responsible for the origination and development of the SolarVantage program and develop other customer and revenue generation programs. In this role you will be an FPL consultant and expert sharing program best practices, program design and implementation processes, financial and regulatory analysis, marketing and branding strategies, and information technology solutions that would enable business growth through the development of new or improved renewable programs.  You will lead and collaborate with enterprise-wide subject matter experts from regulatory, customer service, marketing and communication, finance, information technology, legal, external affairs, engineering and construction, and other subject matter experts as needed to develop and make recommendations for the deployment of renewable programs.   You and your project team will be responsible for the preparation of presentations, regulatory analysis, economic evaluations, and other written materials for key stakeholders including senior management, customers, industry groups, and regulatory agencies. A successful candidate for the role will be comfortable representing the company and the programs with external stakeholders, will have familiarity with the regulated energy business model, and will have project management experience.  This role will include travel requirements, up to 25% of the time or as required.

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new or enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive results
  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
  • Identifies opportunities and negotiates power sales contracts
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad /GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience:  7+ years
