Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist with strong legal and contract negotiation expertise to join the Operating Fleet Sourcing Department in Juno Beach, FL. The successful candidate will play a critical role in formulating procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the acquisition of equipment and services that align with our strategic goals.


 Key responsibilities include:
•    Formulate procurement strategies for acquiring equipment and services for our nuclear fleet, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
•    Conduct comprehensive research and evaluations of potential vendors to identify suppliers offering the best value, considering both cost and quality.
•    Produce detailed procurement reports and analyses to support informed and data-driven purchasing decisions.
•    Collaborate with internal departments to accurately understand their requirements, ensuring the timely and precise delivery of necessary products and services.
•    Manage ongoing relationships with suppliers through continuous communication and performance evaluations, establishing long-term contracts that are mutually beneficial.
•    Utilize strong legal knowledge and contract negotiation skills to draft, review, and negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, focusing on securing favorable pricing, warranty terms, service-level agreements (SLAs), and liability clauses.

Job Overview

This role supports the Purchase Order (PO) issuance process and assists with order fulfillment. Employees in this role observe and support negotiations, assists in answering Business Unit questions, and handle straightforward issues relating to purchase orders and tracking order status. This role completes tasks as directed by higher-level staff and engages in continuous training.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Executes Purchase Requisition to PO processes and manages order fulfillment 
  • Leads Request For Proposal (RFP) and negotiation processes 
  • Manages day-to-day supplier relationships at senior levels
  • Participates in internal strategic planning sessions
  • Conducts market analyses and identifies areas for improvement 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 3+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
