Position Specific Description

Power Generation Division is responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity.

 

This key position requires the ability to analyze processes and provide Pump engineering and technical support to meet performance and reliability requirements for nuclear, natural gas, and solar power generation facilities. The successful candidate must possess demonstrated experience in the troubleshooting of large pumps utilizing available process data and tools. The individual will assist in developing predictive tools to monitor equipment condition and performance in order to prevent unplanned operational events caused by pump failures. Additional duties may include performing reliability/risk assessments; performing vendor qualification, selection, & surveillance; providing technical support during equipment overhauls and repairs; providing back up to the other Pump Engineers, providing field support for equipment analysis and startups; participating in root cause analysis; writing specifications for new equipment and assisting with bid evaluations and engineering reviews of vendor proposals and providing short and long term budgeting support.

 

Due to the nature of the business overtime and weekend availability may be required. Ability to travel throughout the US to support plants as required. Professional Engineers license is a plus.
