Position Specific Description
Corporate Development leads transactions for the world’s largest electric utility and world leader in renewable energy – NextEra Energy. The group is responsible for engaging with the investment banks and counterparties during the deal process in order to negotiate terms and structure deals for mergers or acquisitions. Corporate Development also works on corporate strategy presentations for executive leadership in conjunction with the subject matter experts around the company. In this position you will lead evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities, including coordination of external financial analysis and internal diligence teams. Our Principal Corporate Financial Analyst will be responsible for running analysis, putting together presentations, and coordinating diligence for review by senior leadership.
Additional Experience:
• 2+ years of investment banking experience preferred
• Industry knowledge in utilities, renewables, or infrastructure
• MBA is strongly preferred

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute M&A strategies aligned with corporate objectives
- Lead deal negotiations, due diligence, and structuring of complex transactions
- Build relationships with industry executives, investment banks, and financial advisors
- Oversee financial and strategic analyses to support high-impact investment decisions
- Present transaction recommendations and strategic insights to executive leadership
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's - Finance, Economics or Related Field
- Experience: 6-8 years in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development in the energy/utilities industry OR 5+ years with advanced degree
- Proven track record of leading transactions and strategic initiatives
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's - Business Administration
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
