Position Specific Description

Key member of the Investor Relations team who helps investors understand NextEra Energy’s performance, goals, risks and energy industry dynamics. Responsibilities include developing materials for investment conferences, quarterly results and company-hosted events, developing and managing complex financial and valuation models, conducting research into market and company developments and developing relationships with investors, analysts and colleagues.


Works closely with the Director Investor Relations, NextEra Energy’s executives and senior members of the Finance, Legal and Marketing & Communications departments and speaks frequently with NextEra Energy’s sell-side analysts and institutional investors. Assists Director Investor Relations in leading and mentoring investor relations team. The job requires a broad knowledge of the energy industry, a familiarity with the investment community, an ability to independently execute complex tasks with scrupulous attention to detail, an ability to discuss complex and evolving business issues, exceptional written and verbal communications skills, and an ability to draft effective presentations.


Excellent financial modeling skills with Excel and preparation of executive-ready PowerPoint presentations required. 6+ years of broad business/energy/finance experience with strong preference for direct experience in buy-side or sell side equity research, capital markets and/or investment banking. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. MBA, CFA, (or candidacy) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.


Travel 20% - 30% required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
