Position Specific Description

Our IT Team, supporting the Power Generation Business, is seeking an experienced Principal IT Principal IT Maximo Software Engineer with experience building and overseeing our work and asset management software portfolio.  This position is business-facing and requires collaboration with other IT groups.   In addition to creating business value, this person will need to have a deep understanding of the IBM Maximo software platform and deploying it in a cloud setting. 

Candidates with the following experience will be highly considered:

  • Strong Full-stack Maximo development experience is a must
  • Automation Scripts
  • Maximo Integration Framework
  • Basic configurations like App Designer, DB Config, Conditions, Escalations, Crons
  • Experience with Spatial and BIRT configurations are a strong plus
  •  

Additionally, the candidate for this position needs to be highly skilled with extensive proficiency in Maximo and:

 

  • Be Candidate must be outcome driven
  • Working understanding of APIs and gateways, such as APIGEE, is ideal.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and experience working with multiple datasets
  • Experience with IBM Cloud Delivery Services
  • Experience with IBM Application Management Services
  • Management of Offshore resources
  • Experience in a start-up or entrepreneurial venture, passion in technology or innovations is a plus
  • Experience with other related large enterprise software
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of technologies within their domain and a strong awareness of company strategic business plans
  • Have exposure to software development and Scaled Agile and Lean Startup frameworks is a big plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and seven (7+) or more years of experience required; and

Employees provide technical or functional guidance to project or work teams, as needed within specific or multiple disciplines. This position is accountable for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems, as well as ensuring that excellent technical support services are provided.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains, integrates, customizes, and enhances existing or new systems

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Applies appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools, and technology to manage development activities

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Automates the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Participates in the change management and  service ticket management processes including receiving, resolution monitoring, and ensuring customer satisfaction

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Leads projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Ensures user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Designs, develops, and  tests experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Ensures that applications processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies and applicable standards and legislation

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems as required

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Defines metrics and monitors Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for systems being developed

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  High School Grad / GED

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">•  Experience: 7+ years

Preferred Qualifications
